FONCEF TZ INJECTION

Foncef-TZ is a Tazobactam and Ceftriaxone for Injection. This combination is used in several types of infections in patients who are admitted to hospitals and maybe on ventilators due to pneumonia or other serious infections.

TAZOBACTAM CEFTRIAXONE FOR INJECTION USES:

Tazobactam and Ceftriaxone Injections are used in infections developed due to Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Tazobactam broadens the spectrum of Ceftriaxone by making it effective against organisms that express β-lactamase and would normally degrade Ceftriaxone Sodium.

Foncef-TZ injection is used in highly infected patients who do not respond against single antibiotics like Ceftriaxone and Cefoperazone etc.

This medication is used in patients who are on ventilators or in ICU. This is categorized in the life-saving drugs category.

CEFTRIAXONE AND TAZOBACTAM INJECTION SIDE EFFECTS:

This combination has few side effects due to its high efficacy against bacterial infections. common side effects may be Superinfection and anaphylaxis.

Other side effects may be diarrhea, local reactions, blood dyscrasias, rash on the body, and high fever.

In very rare cases such side effects may occur as pruritus, elevated transaminases, and alkaline phosphatase. Some infections are like pseudomembranous colitis, and hematologic effects may arise in some cases.

Drug Interactions Tazobactam and Ceftriaxone:

Tazobactam and Ceftriaxone Injections may have drug interactions with these molecules like Probenecid, aminoglycosides, vecuronium, methotrexate, oral anticoagulants, and heparin.

How do Tazobactam and Ceftriaxone Injections work?

Ceftriaxone + Tazobactum is a combination of the two drugs Ceftriaxone and Tazobactum. Ceftriaxone is an antibiotic. It works by preventing the formation of the bacterial protective layer, which is required for bacteria to live. Tazobactum, a beta-lactamase inhibitor, boosts Ceftriaxone's antibacterial efficiency while lowering resistance.

Increased liver enzymes, an allergic response, and diarrhea Rash.
