Ofloxacin is classified as a fluoroquinolone antibiotic. It was approved by the FDA in 1990 for medical use in the United States. It was approved for the treatment of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria infections. Ofloxacin plays with the DNA of bacteria to stop its reproduction.  

Ornidazole:

Ornidazole is a nitroimidazole antiprotozoal agent.  It is used to treat the ameba and trichomonas infections. It targets anaerobic bacteria and protozoa. 

It is partially a plasma-bound drug that has radiation-sensitizing activity. 

Ofloxacin and Ornidazole tablet Uses

Oflox oz Tablet is widely used to treat infections created by bacteria requiring and not requiring oxygen for growth. These infections include diarrhea, a stomach infection, disorders of the female reproductive system, and pelvic infections. It is also used to treat foot ulcers, especially in patients with diabetes, lung infection, and weak immune systems. This medicine works by killing bacteria that cause infections. Also, ornidazole blocks protozoal growth and Ofloxacin alone prevents bacterial DNA replication

Folflox-oz Dosage and Administration:

The usual dose of Ofloxacin and ornidazole for adults is one day of Ofloxacin Ornidazole twice daily.
Dosage guidelines depend on the age, weight, severity of disease, and type of infection, therefore, Ofloxacin and Ornidazole tablets should be used only as directed by the Doctor.

Mechanism of Action:

Ofloxacin inhibits the DNA of bacteria replication resulting in the death of bacteria while Ornidazole kills anaerobic microbes. Thus, the synergistic action of both drugs combat infections effectively.

ALTERNATIVE OF OMIDAZOLE:

Omidazole is a similar category drug that is ornidazole, this drug has drug pros over ornidazole. There is almost every dosage form made of imidazole but largely it is used in the formulation of cream, ointment, and solution. 

Alcohol should be avoided
Patients should avoid taking alcohol on the day consuming the Ofloxacin Ornidazole tablet or any dosage form.
