FONCEF TZ INJECTION

Foncef-TZ is a Tazobactam and Ceftriaxone for Injection. This combination is used in several types of infections in patients who are admitted to hospitals and maybe on ventilators due to pneumonia or other serious infections.

Tazobactam Ceftriaxone Injection Uses:

Tazobactam and Ceftriaxone Injection used in infections developed due to Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Tazobactam broadens the spectrum of Ceftriaxone by making it effective against organisms that express β-lactamase and would normally degrade Ceftriaxone Sodium.

Foncef-TZ injection is used in highly infected patients who do not respond against single antibiotics like Ceftriaxone and Cefoperazone etc.

This medication is used in patients who are on ventilators or in ICU. This is categorized in the life-saving drugs category.

SIDE EFFECTS:

This combination has few side effects due to its high efficacy against bacterial infections. common side effects may be like Superinfection and anaphylaxis.

Other side effects may be diarrhea, local reactions, blood dyscrasias, rash on the body, high fever.

In very rare cases such side effects may occur like pruritus, elevated transaminases, and alkaline phosphatase.

Some infections are like pseudomembranous colitishematologic effects may arise in some cases.

Drug Interactions:

Tazobactam and Ceftriaxone Injection may have drug interactions with these molecules like Probenecid, aminoglycosides, vecuronium, methotrexate, oral anticoagulants, and heparin.
