DCGI (Drugs Controller General of India ) has issued a warning to those manufacturers and marketers who done change in formulations without changing their running existing brand name which has high demand in market.

The regulator issued circular to state Drug Authorities regarding the same practice of changing formulations without changing brand name . This practice may mislead patients and doctors , DCGI directed to officers to stop sale and purchase of such medicines which bear Old brand name with new formulations strictly.
The same issue was discussed in last many DCC meetings . Committee was agreed in all meetings that this practice should be stopped immediately with full implementation.
